Huntsville Chapter Information

Chapter History

Huntsville began as a satellite chapter of the Birmingham chapter in January 1992, and was chartered with 25 member firms in November 1992.

Current Membership

  • Our current membership includes over 40 local member firms and their representatives.

Monthly Meetings

  • The Huntsville Chapter meets the first Tuesday night of each month; we network between 5:30 and 6:00, and then have dinner and a program beginning at 6:00.

  • The cost of each dinner meeting is $25.00.

  • Annually we have a special firm recognition/executive event. However, executives are always welcome to attend any meeting!

  • Attendance Requirements: Each representative should attend a minimum of six (6) meetings during the year. Each member firm should be represented by a representative or an executive at seven (7) meetings during the year.

Community Projects

  • Executive Women International Scholarship Program (EWISP): A $2,500 scholarship is awarded to a local high school student at Scholarship Banquet in May.

  • Adult Student in Scholastic Transition (ASIST) Scholarship Program: Tuition is awarded each year to one or more selected candidates. In 2007, one student received $1,500.

  • We also participate in activities with other community literacy projects.

Professional Development

  • All representatives serve on a chapter committee and have the opportunity to serve on the chapter board, the corporate board of directors, or a corporate committee.

  • Chapter president attends leadership training sessions at Presidents’ Caucus held in conjunction with the EWI Leadership Academy and Annual Meeting.

    • Our chapter sends three or more delegates to the EWI® Annual Meeting, held each year in September in a different city. The 2007 meeting was held in Houston, Texas and in 2008 it will be held in Rancho Mirage, California. All representatives are invited to attend.

    • Leadership conferences provide excellent professional seminars.
